So I was having a conversation with my brother this morning over breakfast and we were talking about how the downfall of Friendster came to be. As we all know, the start of these social networking sites was single-handedly put together by the power of Friendster. We now have fifty more social networking sites that are functioning with their different purposes, most of them pretty much the same, with some even purely useless and redundant.

Now the top two leading social networking sites are Facebook and Myspace, according to recent surveys. As a consumer, I don’t see any other feasible reason for this, but it is perhaps the interface of Friendster that you can easily personalize. The network is indeed user-oriented — which appeals to many people, but it can also appear to be one of the reasons for this site’s plunge down the seas. Browsing thru the current users of Friendster, a lot has changed since its advent some five years ago. Majority of its users are now from Asia, and it seems the rest of the world have moved on to Facebook and Myspace. That takes up a huge sum of users altogether and now there is a huge gap the company has given up, they once tried to save, with no positive results shown.

Only the population of Asia versus the Europe and the United States combined is clearly a battle of big and small. This is of course just me speaking, but try it. Log on and see whos on Friendster. Log on and see whos on Facebook and Myspace.

Now here comes Socializr, another creation of the catalyst of social networking, Jonathan Abrahams came up with to redeem his name as the pioneer in social networking sites. I will come back for more information on this. See for yourselves.

My load is getting lighter, thank goodness. It can sometimes be draining, you know, to have to deal with people with an objective mind. There have been instances wherein I can honestly say some things are unjust and rubbish, but in the long run, the patient gets more than just a load of help from it. Other times, I’m forced to only try to euphemize my words and be a little bit harsh, just to nail some facts in, even if I do understand where they are coming from.

Today is good for me. Because the chief counselor is on a holiday today, I am asked to only supervise and not take any calls. Its like consulting people except having to go thru everything step by step by step.
I wrote down my 5 Video Upload Sites that I’ve heard from my friends, and their other friends’ friends. It seems that video uploading is a trend thats not going to go away anytime soon, if anything, the word trend would be wrong to use.

* Google Video - says it all, from the pioneers of search engines comes a new feature that is rising up the video uploading site charts, just the same. They also host from the likes of fellow competing video upload sites.

* YouTube - I believe is the top 1 of all other video upload sites. The interface is pretty simple, it is not a hassle to use it and let it become part of your daily existence. Take my word for it, I have NOT turned on the telly in a while. Because YouTube mostly has everything, you will forget about your Tivo subscription.

* IbeatYou - this is a fast growing video upload site… with a twist. Yes, you heard the man. Not only can you upload your videos here, but you can also compete with other people as you upload your videos. I am seriously surprised as to the ideas that people get these days. I checked them out during its early days, and it was the time wherein they only asked a few people to join. With invites etc.

* Vimeo - is the fastest by far, when it comes to personal posting, say you want something on your blog pronto — this site is for you. The name does not ring a bell much, but you know how fast news spreads, right?

* Jumpcut> - my video-editing friend is crazy about this one. Well, it is made heavily for video-editing on the go. The size oh the upload limit is not bad at all, and the interface is good, too. Too good, actually.

Now, there will be, of course, future developments in the field of video uploading online. The pressing matter would be the speed and the size in terms of quality, but give or take a few months, one site will launch with a more brilliant idea that will surprise as all, Watch.
